ALKEMI is a recycled surface material composed of post-industrial scrap waste (34% by weight—as certified—or 60% by volume). Made from fine flake aluminum milling scrap—which commonly burns up as a heavy smoke pollutant when exposed to conventional aluminum recycling—ALKEMI leaves no hazardous footprint. Available in a variety of colors and surface treatments, ALKEMI may be fabricated and installed using standard solid surface fabrication methods.


Durat is a polyester-based solid surface material made of approximately 30% recycled material. The post-industrial recycled waste is granulated into small speckles that give Durat its distinctive texture. Durat is an excellent material for restaurants, cafes, hospitals, laboratories, bathrooms, kitchens, and more. It is very resistant to wear, humidity, and various kinds of chemicals.


ECO™ by Cosentino is a durable surface made of 75% recycled content composed of post-industrial or post-consumer materials and is bound by an environmentally friendly resin which comes in part from corn oil. Polar Cap, Crystal Ash and Starlight are made mainly from recycled mirror, while Luna and Crystal Sand are composed mainly from recycled glass and porcelain. Black Forest is composed mostly of recycled glass and quarried stone.


Gilasi countertops, available in over 20 colors, are made in Chicago using 85% recycled content by weight. All materials that comprise Gilasi are sourced locally, within 250 miles of its factory, and most of the material, including waste glass from local businesses, is sourced in Chicago. Similar to stone, Gilasi can take any edge, including ogee, bullnose, half bullnose, and eased.


Our custom concrete countertops and tabletops, available in a range of colors and thicknesses, are suitable for both residential and commercial applications. Customers can select from several aggregate materials, including recycled glass, and aggregate exposure levels, which help create unique surface designs and styles. Other creative elements, such as sink drain boards and inlays, can also be intergrated. Countertops are generally pre-cast, and installation can typically be completed within one day.


Meld offers a variety of concrete options, including eco-X, which is made with nearly 70% post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials. Eco-X is suitable for many applications, including bar tops, bath, countertops, reception counters, sinks, tiles, and wall panels. All eco-X products are sealed with a low VOC penetrating sealer.


PaperStone is made from cellulose fiber (paper) and a non-petroleum phenolic resin partially derived from cashew shell oil. There are three series of PaperStone products: 1) Original - made from 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard, 2) Certified - Certified to FSC standards and made from 100% post-consumer recycled standard office paper, and 3) Virgin Series - made from virgin fiber.


Plyboo butcher-block countertops are derived from Moso bamboo harvested from a forest that requires no irrigation or pesticides. The company has longstanding, direct relationships with the farmers of its Moso forests and holds tight control over its two manufacturing facilities to ensure quality control and environmentally healthy production processes. In 2007, Plyboo converted its manufacturing operations to produce no added urea-formaldehyde products. All Plyboo products comply with the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) strictest formaldehyde regulations for composite panels.


Sandhill tiles are made from 100% recycled glass, and each tile takes less than one-half of the energy to produce than ceramic tile, and less than one-fourth of the energy it takes to produce a cast-glass tile. Available in 36 colors, they are manufactured in Boise, Idaho and are suitable for both commercial and residential applications.


Manufactured in the USA, all of the glass used in Vetrazzo is recycled (about 85% of the total material). Most of the glass comes from curbside recycling programs. Other glass comes from windows, dinnerware, stemware, windshields, stained glass, laboratory glass, and reclaimed glass from building demolition, traffic lights and other unusual sources.
