COVERINGS ETC offers a wide range of stone and mosaic tiles and slabs, including a green product line called ECOVERINGS®, which consists of naturally occurring, reclaimed, reused, recycled or recyclable materials. Aside from their practical applications and contemporary design appeal, they are moisture, mold, and mildew resistant and contain low or no off-gassing, and less energy is potentially required for illumination when light colored flooring and countertops (low albedo) are specified and modeled.

Gilasi countertops, available in over 20 colors, are made in Chicago using 85% recycled content by weight. All materials that comprise Gilasi are sourced locally, within 250 miles of its factory, and most of the material, including waste glass from local businesses, is sourced in Chicago. Similar to stone, Gilasi can take any edge, including ogee, bullnose, half bullnose, and eased.

Our custom concrete countertops and tabletops, available in a range of colors and thicknesses, are suitable for both residential and commercial applications. Customers can select from several aggregate materials, including recycled glass, and aggregate exposure levels, which help create unique surface designs and styles. Other creative elements, such as sink drain boards and inlays, can also be intergrated. Countertops are generally pre-cast, and installation can typically be completed within one day.

Meld offers a variety of concrete options, including eco-X, which is made with nearly 70% post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials. Eco-X is suitable for many applications, including bar tops, bath, countertops, reception counters, sinks, tiles, and wall panels. All eco-X products are sealed with a low VOC penetrating sealer.

PaperStone is made from cellulose fiber (paper) and a non-petroleum phenolic resin partially derived from cashew shell oil. There are three series of PaperStone products: 1) Original - made from 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard, 2) Certified - Certified to FSC standards and made from 100% post-consumer recycled standard office paper, and 3) Virgin Series - made from virgin fiber.

Plyboo butcher-block countertops are derived from Moso bamboo harvested from a forest that requires no irrigation or pesticides. The company has longstanding, direct relationships with the farmers of its Moso forests and holds tight control over its two manufacturing facilities to ensure quality control and environmentally healthy production processes. In 2007, Plyboo converted its manufacturing operations to produce no added urea-formaldehyde products. All Plyboo products comply with the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) strictest formaldehyde regulations for composite panels.

Sandhilll tiles are made from 100% recycled glass, and each tile takes less than one-half of the energy to produce than ceramic tile, and less than one-fourth of the energy it takes to produce a cast-glass tile. Available in 36 colors, they are manufactured in Boise, Idaho and are suitable for both commercial and residential applications.

Manufactured in the USA, all of the glass used in Vetrazzo is recycled (about 85% of the total material). Most of the glass comes from curbside recycling programs. Other glass comes from windows, dinnerware, stemware, windshields, stained glass, laboratory glass, and reclaimed glass from building demolition, traffic lights and other unusual sources.
