The Chadwick Arboretum and Learning Gardens at Ohio State is planning to install a 10,000 sq. ft. green roof on Howlett Hall.

The installation, planned for late 2011, will provide numerous benefits, including reductions storm water runoff and urban “heat island” effect.

The green roof will also move the arboretum closer to its goal of achieving LEED certification for the building.
