Ohio plant to recycle lithium batteries

cell phonesAccording to an article yesterday by Trey Granger of Earth911.com, Toxco has been awarded a $9.5 million grant to expand its recycling at an Ohio plant.

The facility will now recycle lithium batteries, along with lead acid, alkaline manganese, and nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries.

Lithium batteries are currently used in electronics such as cell phones. However, they are soon expected to become common in hybrid vehicles, which will increase the demand for recycling services.
