Michelle Jarboe reported in yesterday’s Plain Dealer that Oatey, a Cleveland-based plumbing manufacturer, has developed a device that enables homeowners and businesses to divert rainwater from their downspouts to rain barrels.

The local company designed the product at the request of a program sponsored by the City of Cleveland and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. This summer, the program is supplying and installing 400 free rain barrels to area residents.
